Good on Paper - Fe Arts Gallery, Pittsburgh - December 14, 2007- February 9, 2008
Reflecting diverse creative approaches, "Good on Paper" at Lawrenceville's Fe Gallery includes pieces made from sumi ink, calligraphic stamps, vellum, notepad paper, gouache, and even teabags. Using a range of paper products and mark making materials, these compelling works explore everthing from comic books, family mythologies and the idealization of children to the inner workings of nature and art zines. The exhibition pairs work by Pittsburgh-based artists Matthew Clifford, Craig Kirby, Ruth E. Levine, Christopher Kardambikis, Leslie Golomb, Jon Anderson, and the collective Encyclopedia Destructica with Londoner Deanna Mance, Germany's Karin Bergdolt and Ryan Roth of New York City.
